Chicken Festive

Prepare this chicken dish and turn any meal into a memorable one. Great for Sunday lunches with the family.

Cooking Tools Needed:


500 gramsChicken Breast(cut into serving portions)
500 gramsChicken Thigh(cut into serving portions)
4 clovesGarlic(crushed)
1 can (198 grams) Button Mushrooms(sliced)
1 pc (large) Green Bell Pepper(cut into cubes)
1 pc (large)Red Bell Pepper(cut into cubes)
¼ cup (13 pc) Green Olives(pitted and sliced crosswise)
¼ cupParsley(fresh chopped, optional)
⅓ cupUnsalted Butter(for white sauce)
2 tbspAll-Purpose Flour(for white sauce)
1 pc (small)Onion(chopped, for white sauce)
½ cupAll-Purpose Cream(for white sauce)
⅓ literWater(for white sauce)
1 pouch (250 grams)Del Monte
Sweet Style Spaghetti Sauce

Cooking Procedure:

  1. White Sauce:
    Heat half of butter. Add flour. Cook over low heat while stirring until light brown. Gradually add water, stirring until smooth. Add onion and all purpose Cream. Blend well. Set aside.

  2. Season chicken with ¾ teaspoon iodized fine salt (or ¾ tablespoon iodized rock salt) and ¼ teaspoon pepper. Sauté garlic and mushrooms in remaining butter. Add chicken. Cook until slightly browned.

  3. Add bell peppers, olives, DEL MONTE Spaghetti Sauce and salt to taste. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add white sauce. Stir once. Sprinkle with parsley.

    Makes 10 servings
