Piña Bistek - Pinoy Dish

Bistek gets a fancy upgrade with pineapple tidbits. Great for everyday meals or special occasions.

500 gramsBeef Sirloin(sliced tapa style)
1/3 cupGarlic(finely crushed, for marinade)
2 tbspsSoy Sauce(for marinade)
1 tbspCalamansi Juice(for marinade)
1/4 tspBlack Pepper(for marinade)
Pineapple Syrup(reserve, for marinade)
1/4 cupCooking Oil 
1/3 cupOnion(sliced into rings)
3 tbspsSoy Sauce 
1/4 tspBlack Pepper 
1 tbspCalamansi Juice 
1 can (432 g)Del Monte
Pineapple Chunks
(drained, reserve syrup)

Cooking Procedure:

  1. Marinate beef for 1 hour in the refrigerator. Drain and reserve marinade.

  2. Fry beef until tender. Set aside.

  3. In the same pan, saute onion. Add soy sauce, pepper, calamansi juice and remaining marinade. Simmer for 2 minutes. Add DEL MONTE Pineapple Chunks and fried beef. Bring to a boil and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.

    Makes 8 servings.
