Pine Chicken Tinola - Pinoy Dish

When they coined the phrase “chicken soup for the soul”, they probably had this dish in mind.

1 kgChicken Meat(cut up)
2 tbspsGarlic(crushed)
1/2 cupOnion(sliced)
2 1/2 tbspGinger Strips(cut into strips)
3 tbspsPatis 
2 cups Green Papaya(sliced)
1 cupsSili Leaves 
2 1/2 cupsWater 
1 can (227 grams)Del Monte
Pineapple Tidbits
(drained, reserve syrup)

Cooking Procedure:

  1. Boil first 5 ingredients with pineapple syrup and 1 1/2 cups water and allow to simmer for 20 minutes.

  2. Add papaya, cover and simmer for another 10 minutes or until papaya is tender. Add DEL MONTE Pineapple Tidbits and sili leaves. Simmer for 5 minutes.

    Makes 12 servings
